The 10 brightest stars in our night sky

The following are the brightest stars in our night sky currently. Some are visible from the northern hemisphere, some from the southern hemisphere and some from both.

I plan on this being another astronomy series of blog posts, similar to my Guide to the Planets series I wrote a while back. I can’t be sure how often these will be written, but I will try to update when I can. Each of the following stars in the list below will be given a url to its article, as and when I write them.
